Quality Control System

In 2025, we obtained ISO 17100:2015 certification. ISO 17100 is an industry-specific quality standard for translation agencies. It defines the criteria for delivering high-quality translation services.

What does ISO 17100 regulate?

  • BTD Services translators must have documented education and experience.

  • All translations undergo additional review by a second translator (TEP service).

  • Our Project Managers must possess the necessary expertise and knowledge of the translation industry.

  • The translation project execution process is precisely defined and monitored.

Also, in 2025, we obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification. This standard is based on several quality management principles, such as a strong customer focus, motivation and involvement of top management, a process-oriented approach, and a continuous improvement policy. Implementing ISO 9001:2015 ensures that customers receive high-quality products and services, leading to mutually beneficial business relationships.

By adhering to ISO 9001 and 17100 standards, we can guarantee the highest quality in both translations and customer service. When using our services, you can be assured of receiving translations that meet the highest standards.

How does quality control (QA) work at BTD Services?

In addition to compliance with the above-mentioned standards, our many years of experience in the global translation market have enabled us to develop proprietary solutions that ensure the highest quality of our translations:

  • Assigning native speakers of the target language to projects.

  • Utilizing the latest technologies (CAT, MT, Xbench).

CAT Tools (Computer-Assisted Translation)

CAT tools assist translators by segmenting text and storing each translation in memory. These tools allow for the creation and use of terminology glossaries, which are essential for translating specialized scientific or technical texts. The software also verifies content for terminology consistency and ensures numerical and date accuracy. At BTD Services, we use Trados Studio.

Xbench Software

Besides CAT tools, we also use Xbench, a tool for checking translation consistency. This software is enhanced by linking it to an industry-specific linguistic database. It also detects punctuation and stylistic errors.

We also utilize OCR software (ABBYY FineReader, Solid Converter, Acrobat Pro DC) and text formatting software (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Framemaker, PageMaker, Quark) for DTP purposes.

Liability Insurance

To ensure the security of the projects we handle, we have a liability insurance policy for our services (PZU S.A.).
